Chapter Policies

The following policies are being utilized for the 2010 season. Any updates throughout the year will be posted both to this page and the forums.

Logistics

Auto Memory - After a successful resurrection it is always assumed the player has pulled the memory bead and retains all memories up to the point they died.

Battle Boards - We will be using a Battle Board system for tracking skills and items, please keep your boards up to date.

Event Pricing - Pricing for weekend events is currently $30 per day. A standard weekend event costs $60 to play both days.

Floating Reset - Players may choose to use the Logistical Reset at any time between 5 PM and 8 PM. This may not take place on a module or during an encounter without prior approval from a plot member at the beginning of the module/encounter.

IBGAs - IBGAs are due no later than midnight the Friday one week before the event in order to be guaranteed. Later requests may be addressed at the sole discretion of the responder.

Memberships - The price of a NERO Vanguard annual membership is $30. Current NERO Vanguard members are having their 2010 membership fees waived until further notice. No payment is due at this time. New members are still required to purchase a membership at their first event.

Mini-Mods - Mini modules are additional encounters which may be performed in-person, over the phone, or on-line. They may be scheduled between events, or immediately before or following an event. This cost for a mini-mod is $10 per person. Each participant receives a base 1/4 blanket, but may max out to 1/2 blanket.

New Players - New players will receive their first event free of charge with the purchase of a NERO Vanguard membership. This offer is only open to players who are new to NERO.

Not in Good Standing - While rare, it is possible for a player to be found not in good standing. This may occur due to a variety of reasons including, but not limited to: Abusing one of the 4 Critical Rules, Abusing the Honor System, Financial Grievances or Grievances against Host Sites. The offense may have taken place at NERO Vanguard or at one or more other NERO International chapters. Penalties may include, but are not limited to: a verbal or written warning, temporary or indefinite suspension in your ability to play at NERO Vanguard, removal from host site premises, and revocation from your NERO International membership. If you are considered Not in Good Standing it is recommended that you contact the chapter(s) at which the offense(s) occurred and work towards making arrangements to alleviate the situation. We also reserve the right to notify other NERO Chapters of grievances against players which occur at NERO Vanguard. While we do not like to impose punishments on our players, it is our responsibility to ensure that the game is fair and enjoyable for everyone.

Out of Game - Underneath bunk beds are automatically considered out-of-game in the player sleeping areas. Any items which cannot fit under your bed must be placed in your vehicle or in a container market "Out of Game."

PayPal - Players utilizing PayPal to pre-pay for their event must bring their receipt with them to check-in. If logistics has no record of your transaction and you do not have a copy of your receipt you will not be allowed to PC. No exceptions.

Pre-Registration Discount - Players may receive a pre-registration discount of $5 per game day by pre-registering & pre-paying by 11:59 p.m. the Friday one week before the event. Payment may be made via Paypal or in person.

Production - Goblin Point Production requests are due no later than midnight the Friday one week before the event in order to be guaranteed at check-in. Requests may be given later or on-site but tags will not be printed during check-in.

Physical Representations

Arrow Representation - Players may use either green packets with streamers or yellow packets with no streamers as physical representation for their arrows.

Item Phys Rep'ing - 100% of all potion, scroll, alchemy, weapons, armor, etc. tags carried must be accompanied by a rep. There will be a small grace period for items found as treasure, but anyone abusing this will have any and all tags not properly represented confiscated.

Weapon Construction - At this time we allow: weapons constructed by the rulebook, ultralight weapons that do not have a tapering core, "flat bladed" weapons that do not have a tapering core, and approved latex weapons and shields. Weapons made not according to rulebook specifications will be allowed on a case-by-case basis. Using these weapons is considered a privilege, not a right, and individuals found abusing or misusing these weapon types will have that privilege suspended or removed.

Gameplay

Carrier Attacks - To help clarify carrier attacks we will be using Poison as a Damage Type. Anything delivered by Normal, Silver, Magic, etc. will act as the spell for purposes of duration, removal, etc. Anything with Poison as a damage type counts as alchemy for duration, removal, etc.

Eldritch Ice - While some specific undead are still immune to ice, undead in NERO Vanguard do not take effect from Ice spells.

Weakness Spell - Many monsters under the effects of a weakness spell will be unable to escape some binding spells. Example: Troll A can trip from Pin, Bind, and Web but after being hit by a Weakness he may only rip from Pin and Bind.
